OCome enjoy nature, get some fresh air and exercise at Barrett Park! The Leominster Recreation Department, Project Apples, Leominster Trail Stewards, Emergency Management and Boy Scouts are joining together to offer a free winter event!
Emergency Management will speak about ice safety and ice rescue – Come see the hovercraft used for ice rescue and meet the rescue team.
Leominster Trail Stewards will offer guided hikes through the trails – if snow, bring your snowshoes.
Project Apples will offer a guided “Story Walk” around the park.
Troop 11 Boy Scouts will demonstrate how to make ice rescue claws and build igloos – if there is snow. Come enjoy the bonfire and free hot cocoa provided by Emergency Management, go skating, build a snowman (bring your own accessories) and much more! Don’t miss out on this fun filled day!
